Bournemouth have finalized an agreement to appoint Marco Rose as the successor to Andoni Iraola at the Vitality Stadium. Although Rose will not officially take over until this summer, the agreement enables both the new manager and the club to prepare for the upcoming season after Iraola announced his decision to leave the club when his contract expires. Iraola revealed on Tuesday that he would be stepping down from his role as head coach, marking the end of his three-year tenure at the Cherries.
Following Iraola's announcement, Sky Sports News reported that former RB Leipzig boss Rose was the top candidate to succeed him due to their shared footballing philosophy and style of play. The 46-year-old has been out of management since being dismissed by RB Leipzig in March 2025. Rose's appointment is seen as a key step for Bournemouth as they pursue trophies and European competition. His playing style, which emphasizes "emotion, hunger, and being active," aligns with the club's goals.
Rose has expressed his desire to have his team "very active against the ball, sprint a lot," and "win high balls and have short ways to the goal," reflecting his commitment to dynamic and attacking football.
