Benn: Garcia Remains Top Priority, but Other Prominent Opponents are Eager for a Bout

Conor Benn has stated that a WBC title match against Ryan Garcia is his primary objective, but he has also revealed that several other notable fighters are now clamoring for a chance to face him. Following his victory over Regis Prograis on the Tyson Fury bill at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Benn signed a multi-year, multi-fight deal with Zuffa Boxing. As the mandatory challenger for Garcia's WBC welterweight title, Benn believes he is now in a position to take on a range of elite opponents. 'Of course, securing the Garcia fight is the priority, but I have plenty of other options available,' Benn told Sky Sports. 'There are many fighters reaching out to me, including some big names, eager for a fight.' Benn emphasized that he is ready to face Garcia, but if the American is not interested, he is open to exploring other opportunities. 'If Ryan doesn't want the fight, there are plenty of other possibilities,' he said. Benn's recent win over Prograis has sparked interest from other fighters, with many now calling him out for a bout. He noted that this reaction is amusing, given that few were willing to face him after his rematch win over Chris Eubank Jr. 'It's funny how all these fighters are now calling me out after my win over Prograis, when they were silent after the Eubank fight,' Benn said. 'Maybe it's a blessing that I went the distance with Regis, as it's shown that I can compete at a high level.' Zuffa Boxing head Dana White has expressed interest in making a 'fun' fight between Benn and Garcia, and the organization has also announced the signing of former WBO cruiserweight champion Chris Billam-Smith. White expects to recruit more top British fighters in the coming weeks, stating, 'I'm looking for lots of UK talent, not just the big names, but also young up-and-coming guys who we think have the potential to be world champions.'
