Milan's San Siro Stadium May Host ATP 250 Grass-Court Event from 2028

A new ATP 250 tournament is set to be held in Milan on grass courts from 2028, with the iconic San Siro stadium being considered as a possible venue. The Italian Tennis and Padel Federation has acquired the rights to the tournament, which was previously held in Brussels. The event will take place in June and is expected to attract top players. While the venue is yet to be confirmed, San Siro's large capacity and northern Italy's suitable climate make it a strong contender. The federation is also working on upgrading the Foro Italico in Rome, with plans to install a retractable roof on the main court. Additionally, the federation aims to elevate the Rome Masters to Grand Slam status, rivaling Indian Wells and other major tournaments. Italian player Jannik Sinner is also looking to make history by becoming the first Italian man to win the singles title at the Foro Italico in 50 years.
