Doku Sounds Warning to Arsenal: 'Title Race is On'
Manchester City's Jeremy Doku has sent a message to Premier League leaders Arsenal, stating that the 'title race is on' after his side's 3-0 win over Chelsea. With City now six points behind Arsenal and having a game in hand, Doku expressed his belief in his team's chances. He said, 'I would be crazy if I didn't believe. I believe the race is on.' City's victory came after Arsenal's surprising home defeat to Bournemouth, and Doku acknowledged the unpredictability of the Premier League. He added, 'If we win next weekend, it's a big punch towards them. If we lose, it's in their hands and we have to wait for them to lose.' City manager Pep Guardiola also shared his thoughts, recalling how his side was considered an underdog before the Carabao Cup final against Arsenal last month. Since then, City has beaten Arsenal 2-0, thrashed Liverpool 4-0 in the FA Cup, and closed the gap at the top of the league table. Guardiola noted, 'In the Carabao Cup final, City were complete underdogs. Maybe now it's a bit different.' He also expressed his respect for Arsenal, saying, 'They have been the best team in this country, in Europe, so far. Beating Arsenal once is so difficult, imagine beating them twice in a few weeks.' With City out of the Champions League, Guardiola believes his team can focus on the Premier League and is confident in their ability to compete against top teams.
