Nicky Richards Seeks to Extend Winning Streak at Hexham

Following an impressive eight consecutive wins, Nicky Richards is set to send three horses to Hexham for Monday's National Hunt action. Jamesieconn, chasing a fourth consecutive victory for the in-form Richards team, will compete in the Mick Walsh Open Ditch Handicap Chase. This seven-year-old has shown a preference for the three-mile trip and good ground, having won at Carlisle and subsequently been raised 5lbs to a mark of 100. The additional weight may prove to be a challenge, but it would not be surprising if Danny McMenamin's mount rises to the occasion once again. Streamsforth Lad, despite having placed in various hurdle and chase races, is yet to achieve a win and will be racing off a mark of 97. Meanwhile, Stuart Coltherd, who has seen a level-stakes profit of +298 over the last two weeks, will be fielding Rightbackatyou, who performed well behind Scottish King over this course and distance recently. Young Getaway will also be making his chasing debut in the Anthony Woods Electrical Lightning Bolt Handicap Chase, a year after being defeated over hurdles by That One, who will be competing against him once again. That One will be making his first appearance over fences after a disappointing performance at Newcastle, with Jack Power's 5lbs claim potentially being beneficial. The Lucinda Russell and Michael Scudamore partnership will be fielding Heads Or Harps and Choose A Copper, with the former having been consistently placing in recent starts. Grant Wood, trained by Paul Midgley, returns to Gosforth Park, where he has previously been successful, following a defeat at Wolverhampton. Wicket Keeper, having won twice over six furlongs, will be competing in the same event, while Paddy's Day will be wearing a tongue-tie for the first time under Nigel Tinkler, and Albasheer will be ridden by Sky Sports Racing ambassador Hollie Doyle. Gardener, who won more convincingly than the winning distance suggested last time out, will be returning for the Happy Retirement Maurice & Anne Barnes Handicap Hurdle at 4.30pm.
