Fitzpatrick Takes the Lead After Round Two of RBC Heritage
Matt Fitzpatrick secured the top spot on the leaderboard after the second round of the RBC Heritage, finishing with a one-stroke lead after achieving an impressive eight-under-par 63. Fitzpatrick, from England, had a flawless round with eight birdies, including a notable 36-foot putt on the 15th hole, at the Hilton Head course. As the 2022 US Open champion, Fitzpatrick started Friday tied for third place after his opening round of 65. Now, at 31 years old, he is in the lead at 14 under par at the tournament's midpoint, with Norway's Viktor Hovland trailing by one stroke after scoring 65 in the second round. Ludvig Aberg, the previous leader, dropped to a tie for fourth place due to three bogeys on the back nine. Scotland's Robert MacIntyre is six strokes behind Fitzpatrick after scoring 68, and world number one Scottie Scheffler is seven strokes behind after scoring 67.
