Rangers Stage Thrilling Comeback to Keep Pressure on Hearts

In a remarkable turnaround, Rangers recovered from a 2-0 deficit to claim a stunning victory at Falkirk, maintaining their pursuit of the Scottish Premiership title with just five games remaining. However, Tochi Chukwanui narrowed the gap before halftime, and a blistering start to the second half saw Rangers take a 3-2 lead thanks to goals from Youssef Chermiti and Nico Raskin. Rangers increased the pressure, with Bojan Miovski adding a fourth goal before Falkirk's Calvin Miller scored from the penalty spot after James Tavernier fouled Filip Lissah. The dramatic comeback was sparked by Chukwuani's contentious finish just before halftime. The home team appeared to pause in anticipation of a goal kick after Raskin's cross curled over the goalmouth, but the ball landed on Djeidi Gassama's head, whose header hit the post before Chukwuani converted the rebound. Röhl's introduction of Bojan Miovski for Mikey Moore at halftime proved to be a pivotal decision. Gassama was moved to the left and won the ball on the edge of the Falkirk box, with his low cross flicked home by Chermiti, who soon missed another chance to put his team in front. Rangers posed a greater threat and took the lead in the 52nd minute when Raskin ran around the outside of Aasgaard and hit the Norwegian's pass first time into the far corner. Chermiti missed another chance before Raskin set up Miovski to bundle home with a cross from the left. Falkirk were given a lifeline in the 70th minute when Miller netted from the spot after Tavernier brought down Filip Lissah. However, Raskin was involved again as Rangers restored their two-goal cushion, bursting forward before Chermiti netted after Gassama's shot was blocked. The Belgian midfielder was eventually booked for a clash with Dylan Tait after earlier escaping yellow cards for a clear pull and embracing Rangers fans after his goal. Miovski sealed the victory two minutes from time when he converted Oliver Antman's low cross from close range. In a post-match interview with Sky Sports, Rangers head coach Danny Röhl stated: "Our start was not ideal. It was exactly what we expected, and we struggled in the first 10-15 minutes with the pitch. "But the reaction was outstanding. We focused on our job and delivered. "It's much easier to go into this short break with a win, of course, but the team's spirit is great, and after the game, you see the connection between our supporters and the team. "We are one team now, and this is great. "Looking back, four or five months ago, I was in this situation here in Falkirk, and today, after the game, it shows a lot about our direction from the club and our ability to keep going and believing what the supporters told us.
