Nicky Richards Seeks to Extend Winning Streak at Hexham

Following a remarkable eight-win streak, Nicky Richards is set to send three horses to Hexham for the National Hunt event on Monday. Jamesieconn, chasing a fourth consecutive win for the in-form Richards team, will participate in the Mick Walsh Open Ditch Handicap Chase. The seven-year-old previously demonstrated a preference for the three-mile distance and good ground, securing a win at Carlisle and subsequently being bumped up 5lbs to a mark of 100. Despite the added weight, Jamesieconn may still rise to the challenge under Danny McMenamin. Streamsforth Lad, although yet to secure a win in 18 starts, has shown improvement and will participate in the event. Stuart Coltherd, who has achieved a level-stakes profit of +298 over the last two weeks, will saddle Rightbackatyou. Nicky Richards will also send out Young Getaway to attempt to continue his winning streak in the Anthony Woods Electrical Lightning Bolt Handicap Chase, where he will make his chasing debut. The Lucinda Russell and Michael Scudamore combination will field two runners, including the ultra-consistent Heads Or Harps. Grant Wood, trained by Paul Midgley, will return to Gosforth Park, where he has been successful on his two recent visits. Wicket Keeper, having finished just over two lengths behind Power Fizz in his latest outing, will also participate in the event. Other notable participants include Paddy's Day, wearing a tongue-tie for the first time, and Albasheer, returning in the hands of Sky Sports Racing ambassador Hollie Doyle. Gardener, who won more convincingly than the winning distance suggested last time out, will return for the Happy Retirement Maurice & Anne Barnes Handicap Hurdle at 4.30pm.
