Augusta National Golf Tournament: Final Standings

The final leaderboard is in for the Masters golf tournament, the first major of the year, held at the prestigious Augusta National course in Augusta, Georgia. Rory McIlroy successfully defended his title, making history by becoming the first player to do so since Tiger Woods. McIlroy's victory came after a thrilling playoff win over Justin Rose the previous year, which made him the sixth player to achieve a career Grand Slam. This year, McIlroy edged out world number one Scottie Scheffler by one stroke, with Scheffler having been the pre-tournament favorite despite not having a top-10 finish in his last three PGA Tour events. Tyrrell Hatton, Justin Rose, Cameron Young, and Russell Henley all finished tied for third, two strokes behind McIlroy. Collin Morikawa and Sam Burns shared seventh place, while Max Homa and Xander Schauffele rounded out the top 10. The Masters, which featured 91 players, is the first of four majors in men's golf, followed by the PGA Championship, the US Open, and the Open. The PGA Tour now heads to Hilton Head Island in South Carolina for the RBC Heritage, where Justin Thomas will look to defend his title.
