Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has cemented his place in the record books by becoming the youngest player to score a century in the IPL, achieving this feat just nine days after making his debut at the age of 14 in 2025. Now, at 15, India's latest cricket sensation continues to impress, sparking discussions about his potential international debut. Sooryavanshi's remarkable abilities were on full display during his first IPL season, where he scored a 35-ball hundred as a 14-year-old, and he has consistently demonstrated his capacity to perform under pressure with the Rajasthan Royals. With two 15-ball fifties against the Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru, and a total of 200 runs from five innings at a strike rate of 263.15, Sooryavanshi is the third-highest run-scorer in the tournament. Although a golden duck in the recent match against Sunrisers Hyderabad showed that Sooryavanshi is human, his exceptional power, physical presence, and composure at the crease have left seasoned professionals in awe. However, every so often, a player emerges who is too special to be ignored. Sooryavanshi appears to be in the same league as legendary players like Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, and Yashasvi Jaiswal. His impressive 175 in the U19 World Cup final against England, which led India to a 100-run victory and a record sixth title, demonstrated his ability to perform against the best. With a packed summer of white-ball fixtures ahead, Sooryavanshi has ample opportunities to make his international debut. If he doesn't get the chance in the upcoming series against Afghanistan, his breakthrough could come in the British Isles, where India will face Ireland and England in seven T20Is and three ODIs in June and July.
