Injury Woes Mount for England in Women's Six Nations
The depth of England's squad is being severely tested as front row players Hannah Botterman and May Campbell have become the latest to be sidelined from the Guinness Women's Six Nations. Botterman requires a second surgery for an ankle injury she sustained while playing for Bristol in December, and Campbell will undergo knee surgery next week. Furthermore, England has lost another forward due to injury, as number eight Alex Matthews will miss the upcoming match against Scotland with a shoulder issue she incurred during the 33-12 win over Ireland. To bolster their lineup, Bristol Bears' Delaney Burns and Saracens' Liz Crake have been added to John Mitchell's squad. These setbacks come on the heels of the announcement just three days prior that lock Morwenna Talling and scrum-half Natasha Hunt would be out for the remainder of the Six Nations due to leg injuries. England is also without several key players from their World Cup-winning squad, including Zoe Stratford, Abbie Ward, and Rosie Galligan, who are all expecting and will be out for the foreseeable future.
