Andreeva Secures Spot in Linz Final Against Potapova

Mirra Andreeva has reached her second WTA Tour final of the year, defeating Elena-Gabriela Ruse 6-4, 6-1 in the Linz Open semi-finals. Andreeva, the top seed, initially broke Ruse's serve in the opening game but then faced consecutive breaks on her own serve. However, she regained her momentum by breaking Ruse in the eighth game and again in the next service game to claim the set 6-4. Andreeva dominated the second set, breaking Ruse in the fourth and sixth games, ultimately securing a 6-4, 6-1 victory after one hour and 27 minutes. Anastasia Potapova will also be returning to the final, having previously won the title on her debut three years ago. She defeated Donna Vekic 6-4, 6-2 in the semi-finals, taking an early lead and holding on to win the first set. Potapova continued to dominate in the second set, building a 4-0 lead and eventually taking her first win over Vekic in their last three meetings. This marks Potapova's first final since her debut win, and she will face Andreeva, who has beaten her in their last two encounters. The pair will meet for the fourth time, with their previous matches not being on clay courts.
