Manchester United's Harry Maguire has received an additional one-match ban for misconduct, resulting in his absence from the upcoming Chelsea game. An independent regulatory commission imposed the ban on April 1, citing Maguire's improper behavior towards fourth official Matt Donohue after being red-carded against Bournemouth on March 20. Maguire had reacted to his dismissal by pushing Evanilson and denying a goalscoring opportunity, leading to a penalty equalizer by Eli Junior Kroupi. The 33-year-old England international admitted to the offense and was fined £30,000. According to the FA's written report, Donohue claimed Maguire insulted him, saying, "You're a joke, you're all a f****** joke," although Maguire claimed he only said, "it is a f****** joke." Maguire will now miss the Chelsea game, alongside Lisandro Martinez, who was sent off for pulling Dominic Calvert-Lewin's hair during the Leeds defeat. With Matthijs de Ligt still injured, Manchester United's center-back options are limited, with Leny Yoro and Ayden Heaven being the only natural choices, despite their inexperience. Luke Shaw could be an alternative, but the physical challenge of Joao Pedro may lead to a more conventional option. Casemiro, who has played center-back before, is unlikely to be considered due to the limited midfield options, making the youth ranks a possible solution, with 18-year-old Godwill Kukonki being a potential candidate.
