The two-time Barcelona champion expressed his disappointment, stating that he must prioritize his health and recovery in order to avoid any long-term damage. Meanwhile, other tennis players, including Cameron Norrie and Katie Boulter, have advanced to the next rounds in their respective tournaments.
Novak Djokovic has also announced his return to action at the Mutua Madrid Open, which will be broadcast live on Sky Sports Tennis.
