Thomas Partey Denies Latest Rape Allegations

Ex-Arsenal footballer Thomas Partey has denied two additional allegations of rape. The 32-year-old midfielder appeared at Southwark Crown Court, where he pleaded not guilty to raping a woman in London in December 2020. Partey had previously been charged with five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault, dating back to 2021 and 2022, to which he also pleaded not guilty. The new allegations were announced in February, and a judge has agreed to try all the charges together. However, this may delay the trial until January next year. In total, Partey has now denied seven counts of rape and one count of sexual assault, relating to allegations from four women. He is currently on bail and is expected to play for Ghana in the World Cup this summer. The case is set to return to court for a pre-trial hearing on May 14, with a trial date to be confirmed later.
