Augusta National Masters Leaderboard: Final Results
The final standings from the Masters, the first major golf tournament of the year, held at Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia. Rory McIlroy successfully defended his title, becoming the first player to do so since Tiger Woods, after winning last year's playoff against Justin Rose to complete his career Grand Slam. World number one Scottie Scheffler was the favorite to win but ultimately finished second, one stroke behind McIlroy. Tyrrell Hatton, Justin Rose, Cameron Young, and Russell Henley tied for third, while Collin Morikawa and Sam Burns finished seventh. The top 10 was rounded out by Max Homa and Xander Schauffele. Patrick Reed and Shane Lowry struggled in the final round, finishing five under and slipping out of contention, respectively. This week's major had a field of 91 players, the first of four in as many months in men's golf, followed by the PGA Championship in May, the US Open in June, and The Open in July. The PGA Tour will head to Hilton Head Island in South Carolina for the RBC Heritage, where Justin Thomas will defend his title. The next men's major, the PGA Championship, will be held at Aronimink Golf Club in Pennsylvania from May 14-17.
