Anthony Joshua Holds Fury Contract, but May Prioritize a July Warm-Up Fight

Promoter Eddie Hearn has revealed that Anthony Joshua is in possession of a contract for a highly anticipated showdown with Tyson Fury, although Joshua might first engage in a warm-up bout in July before facing Fury in November. This development comes after Fury signed for the all-British mega fight and challenged Joshua following his victory over Arslanbek Makhmudov. Joshua's commitment to the Fury fight has been uncertain, partly due to his involvement in a serious car accident in Nigeria that resulted in the deaths of his friends. Hearn stated that they are reviewing the contract received last week and are keen on ensuring Joshua is physically and mentally ready to return to the ring, with a potential July return now on the cards. The original plan for a March fight, followed by a clash with Fury in August, has been delayed. Speculation suggests Joshua's July bout could be against Deontay Wilder, with Hearn expressing interest in a back-to-back fight schedule against Wilder and then Fury. Wilder's camp, however, claims no discussions have taken place regarding a potential fight against Joshua.
