DeChambeau Eager for McIlroy Rivalry at The Masters

Bryson DeChambeau is looking forward to competing against Rory McIlroy at The Masters, following a valuable learning experience from last year's tournament. DeChambeau, a two-time US Open champion, is among the top contenders for the title, having achieved top-six finishes in the past two years and recently winning back-to-back LIV Golf League events. He reflected on the previous year's final round, where he briefly led before finishing tied fifth, and expressed his desire to go head-to-head with McIlroy again. DeChambeau stated, 'I think it's great if we can continue to have a rivalry... it helps create more buzz around the game of golf.' He also acknowledged his respect for McIlroy as an individual, while expressing his determination to beat him. DeChambeau noted that losing last year was a 'great learning lesson,' giving him perspective on leading and ultimately losing. He believes that putting himself in those positions will provide better opportunities for winning. With his current form, DeChambeau feels his game is in the best place it has been, outside of a notable performance at the Greenbrier LIV Golf League event. Former Ryder Cup captain Paul McGinley suggested that DeChambeau's presence in the final round last year may have helped McIlroy focus and ultimately win the Grand Slam.
