Kent Faces Uphill Task Against Northants as Crawley Struggles to Find Form

Kent's Zak Crawley posted his third consecutive sub-30 score in the County Championship, as Northamptonshire amassed a record 684 for two declared at Canterbury. Following hundreds from Ricardo Vasconcelos, Luke Procter, and Calvin Harrison on the opening day, Nathan McSweeney reached three figures on Saturday, marking the first time Northants' top four have all scored centuries. Craig Overton's career-best 141 lifted Somerset to 348 in response to Essex's 149, while an unbroken 86 between Paul Walter and Matt Critchley helped Essex recover from 45 for three in their second innings to close on 131 without further loss.
