Hollie Doyle's Blog: Gaining Insights into Derby Prospect Wareeth

As I prepare to ride at Newmarket's Craven meeting, I'm excited about my mount on Wareeth, a promising Derby contender, in the Listed Feilden Stakes. My boss Archie Watson's colt has shown great potential, and I'm eager to see how he performs. Wareeth will be taking a significant step up in class after his impressive 14-length win at Newcastle last month. Although he doesn't currently hold a Derby entry, we've been pleased with his progress since his debut. I had the chance to ride him last week and felt good about his abilities, but this second start will be a crucial test. Aidan O'Brien's Isaac Newton poses a challenge, having already won his maiden and finished fourth in the Group 1 Criterium de Saint-Cloud. He holds a Derby entry and boasts an official rating of 106. Another contender, Poseidon's Warrior, will be making the leap from novice company after winning at Goodwood. All three colts are entered in the traditional Derby trial, the Group 2 Dante at York next month. I'm also looking forward to riding ZOULU CHIEF in the Weatherbys With Venatour Racing Handicap, as he's been performing well on the All-Weather over the winter. Approaching his prime at five years old, he's a few pounds higher than his best winning performance but still looks like a 90 horse. I've had the opportunity to ride work on Jane Chapple-Hyam's outsider HARLEQUIN BREEZE, and I believe she's worth her place in the Group 3 Lanwades Stud Nell Gwyn Stakes. Despite being a maiden after three starts, she's shown improvement with every run and impressed me with her determination. IMPOSSIBLE MISSION needs to demonstrate his abilities on turf, having already proven himself on the All-Weather. He'll be receiving weight from all his rivals in the National Stud Handicap. LADY FIZZ will be making her debut in the Molson Coors British EBF Maiden Fillies' Stakes, taking on fillies from prominent yards over 1m. On Thursday, I'll be riding Marco Botti's Shergar Cup winner PRINCE OF INDIA in the Zyn Abernant Stakes. I'm expecting a strong performance from Hawk Mountain in the Group 3 Betway Craven Stakes, as he looks to make a winning return and bolster his Derby claims. Another favorite of mine, Karl Burke's Boiling Point, returns to turf in the Group 3 Betway Earl Of Sefton Stakes, and I'm anticipating a solid performance from him.
