Thomas Partey Denies Two New Rape Allegations

Ex-Arsenal footballer Thomas Partey has denied two new allegations of rape. The 32-year-old midfielder appeared in court on Monday, pleading not guilty to raping a woman in London in December 2020. Partey had previously been charged with five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault in July last year, to which he also pleaded not guilty. The new allegations, announced in February, will be tried together with the previous charges. The trial, initially set for November, may be delayed until January next year due to the additional charges. In total, Partey has denied seven counts of rape and one count of sexual assault, all related to allegations from four different women. The Ghanaian national team player, who recently joined Villarreal, is expected to play in the World Cup this summer. He is currently on bail and is not allowed to contact the alleged victims. A pre-trial hearing is scheduled for May 14 to determine the exact trial date.
