Catalans Dragons Head Coach Joel Tomkins Steps Down Due to Personal Reasons

Joel Tomkins has announced his departure from Catalans Dragons, citing personal reasons for his decision to step down as head coach. Tomkins, who had been in the role for nearly a year, revealed that being away from his family for an extended period had taken a toll on him. Following a recent stint back at home, he made the difficult decision to leave the club. Initially, Tomkins had taken on the role as an interim coach but was later appointed to the position permanently. Despite the challenges, Tomkins expressed his gratitude for the experience and the friendships he formed during his time at the club. He stated, 'My time at Catalans Dragons over the past 18 months has been a valuable learning experience, both personally and professionally.' Tomkins will be replaced by Ryan Sheridan, who will take over as interim head coach alongside assistant coaches Micky McIlorum and Mitchell Pearce.
