Late Portsmouth Goal Sinks Faltering Middlesbrough

The visitors, who failed to register a shot on target until the dying seconds, saw their eight-game winless streak come to an end. Middlesbrough, now without a win in six games, trails second-placed Ipswich by three points, with Ipswich having two games in hand after their lunchtime victory over Norwich. Portsmouth, on the other hand, moved a point and a place above the relegation zone thanks to the late winner. Despite dominating possession, Middlesbrough managed only 20 shots, with Portsmouth limited to just three.
