Hull FC Exit Leaves Cartwright Feeling Betrayed
Former Hull FC head coach John Cartwright expressed his feelings of betrayal and disrespect following the confirmation of his exit from the club. The announcement, made on April 7, stated that Cartwright would be leaving at the end of the current Betfred Super League season. Despite the news, Cartwright claims he has yet to receive an explanation for the decision. In a recent interview, Cartwright stated, 'The club decided to part ways with me at the end of my contract, but I still haven't been given a reason.' Cartwright, who took over as head coach in 2025, led the team to a seventh-place finish, their highest since 2020. With the search for a new coach already underway, Cartwright emphasized his commitment to his job, saying, 'I'll continue to do my job to the best of my ability, and my bond with the players remains unchanged.' Hull FC currently sits ninth in the Super League standings with three wins and four losses from their first seven matches.
