Thomas Partey Pleads Not Guilty to Additional Rape Allegations
Ex-Arsenal footballer Thomas Partey has entered not guilty pleas to two fresh allegations of rape. The 32-year-old midfielder appeared in court on Monday to deny raping a woman in London in December 2020. Partey, who now plays for Villarreal, had previously been charged with five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault, all of which he denied. The new allegations bring the total number of rape charges against him to seven, with one additional count of sexual assault. The trial, which was initially set for November, may now be delayed until January next year. Partey, a key player for the Ghana national team, is expected to face England in the World Cup this summer. He is currently on bail and has been instructed not to contact the alleged victims.
