Gary Player Offers Support to Tiger Woods but Urges Caution

Golf legends Gary Player and Jack Nicklaus have expressed their support for Tiger Woods, who is currently absent from the sport due to health issues. Woods, a 15-time major champion, has been dealing with the aftermath of a car crash and is seeking treatment. Player, who has been following Woods' journey, sympathized with the golfer's pain but emphasized the importance of prioritizing his safety, particularly when it comes to driving. 'If I or anyone in this room had to endure the kind of pain Tiger Woods has been experiencing, we would understand his need for relief,' Player said. 'However, I strongly advise him against driving, as it poses a significant risk to himself and others.' Player suggested that Woods consider hiring a chauffeur to minimize the risks associated with driving while taking medication. Nicklaus, who has won 18 majors, also offered words of encouragement, stating that golf needs Woods and wishes for his speedy recovery. Augusta National chairman Fred Ridley expressed the organization's support for Woods' decision to focus on his health and well-being. Woods has been struggling with his health and has only participated in a limited number of tournaments since November 2020. His absence from the current season has been felt, and fans are eagerly awaiting his return to the sport.
