Andreeva Secures Spot in Linz Final Against Potapova

Mirra Andreeva has booked her place in her second WTA Tour final of the year, defeating Elena-Gabriela Ruse 6-4, 6-1 in the Linz Open semi-finals. Andreeva, the top seed, broke Ruse's serve in the opening game but was then broken back-to-back on her own serve. However, she regained her composure, breaking Ruse to love in the eighth game and taking the set 6-4. Andreeva dominated the second set, breaking Ruse in the fourth and sixth games, to seal a 6-4, 6-1 victory in one hour and 27 minutes. Meanwhile, Anastasia Potapova has reached her first final since winning the title on her debut three years ago, defeating Donna Vekic 6-4, 6-2. Potapova took an early lead, going 4-1 up, before Vekic fought back. However, Potapova held on to take the first set and continued her dominance in the second, building a 4-0 lead to secure her win. This will be Potapova's first final since representing Russia, and she will face Andreeva, who has beaten her in their last two meetings. The pair will meet for the fourth time, with Andreeva seeking to continue her winning streak against Potapova.
