Nicky Richards Seeks to Extend Winning Streak at Hexham

Following a remarkable eight consecutive victories, Nicky Richards is set to field three runners at Hexham for the National Hunt action. Jamesieconn, part of the in-form Richards team, will be competing in the Mick Walsh Open Ditch Handicap Chase, seeking to secure a fourth consecutive win. Having previously shown a liking for the three-mile trip and good ground, Jamesieconn won at Carlisle and has since been raised 5lbs to a mark of 100. Despite the added weight, the horse may still rise to the challenge under Danny McMenamin. Streamsforth Lad, another Richards contender, has yet to win despite placing in various hurdle and chase events, and will be racing off a mark of 97. Meanwhile, Stuart Coltherd's Rightbackatyou will be competing after recently finishing behind Scottish King over the same course and distance. In the Anthony Woods Electrical Lightning Bolt Handicap Chase, Young Getaway will make his chasing debut, attempting to extend Richards' impressive winning streak. That One, who was defeated by Young Getaway over hurdles, will also be making his debut over fences. Other notable contenders include Heads Or Harps and Choose A Copper, trained by the Lucinda Russell and Michael Scudamore combination, as well as Grant Wood, who has a strong record at Gosforth Park. The racing action at Hexham promises to be exciting, with several talented horses and trainers vying for victory.
