Prograis Predicts Benn's Risky Strategy Will Ultimately Backfire

Regis Prograis has cautioned that Conor Benn's bold move will prove to be a costly mistake when the two fighters face off this weekend. Benn is set to return to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the venue of his previous middleweight victories over Chris Eubank Jr, for his third consecutive bout at the football ground. Prograis, a former super-lightweight world champion, is moving up to 150lbs to take on Benn at a catchweight with no rehydration limit. 'They've certainly set the terms in his favor, but I'm confident I can emerge victorious,' Prograis stated in an interview with Sky Sports. 'I've spent my entire career fighting at 140lbs, so this is a significant jump for me.' Prograis revealed that he requested a weight stipulation for the day after the fight, but it was denied. 'I told them I didn't care about the weight, I just wanted to make the fight happen,' he explained. Despite the challenges, Prograis remains optimistic about his chances, citing his superior skills and experience. He also disclosed that there is no rematch clause in place for his fight with Benn. 'We didn't agree to a rematch clause, but if the fans want to see it again, I'm open to it,' Prograis said. 'My initial plan was to move up to 147lbs, but I was training and in the gym, so I'm ready for this opportunity.' Prograis believes Benn is taking a risk by facing him, especially since he's been actively training. 'I don't think Benn is in my league,' Prograis asserted. 'I've been the number one fighter in the world twice and a two-time champion; he hasn't achieved that level of success.' Prograis is eager to use a win over Benn as a stepping stone to another world title shot. 'A victory will open up numerous opportunities for me,' he said. 'I know that after this fight, something big will happen, and I'm aiming to become a three-time champion.'
