Augusta National Masters: Final Standings

The final standings from the Masters tournament, the first major golf event of the year, held at Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia. Rory McIlroy successfully defended his title, becoming the first player to do so since Tiger Woods, after winning last year's playoff against Justin Rose to achieve a career Grand Slam. World number one Scottie Scheffler was the pre-tournament favorite but ultimately finished a shot behind McIlroy, who carded a one-under 71 in the final round. Tyrrell Hatton, Justin Rose, Cameron Young, and Russell Henley were tied for third place, while Collin Morikawa and Sam Burns shared seventh. The top 10 was rounded out by Max Homa and Xander Schauffele. Patrick Reed and Shane Lowry struggled in the final round, finishing five under and well out of contention, respectively. A field of 91 players competed in the event, which is the first of four majors in as many months. The PGA Championship, US Open, and The Open follow in the coming months. The PGA Tour now heads to Hilton Head Island in South Carolina for the RBC Heritage, where Justin Thomas will look to defend his title.
