Doku Sounds Warning to Arsenal: 'Title Race is On'
Manchester City's Jeremy Doku has sent a clear message to league leaders Arsenal, stating that the title race is now officially underway. This comes after City's impressive 3-0 victory over Chelsea, which has moved them six points behind Arsenal with a game in hand. Doku, who scored his first goal since November, expressed his belief in City's chances, emphasizing that their destiny is now in their own hands. He warned Arsenal that City are ready for their showdown next weekend, saying, 'If we win, it's a big punch towards them. If we lose, it's in their hands and we have to wait for them to lose.' City manager Pep Guardiola also shared his thoughts, recalling how his team was considered the underdog ahead of the Carabao Cup final against Arsenal last month. However, City went on to win the final 2-0 and has since thrashed Liverpool 4-0 in the FA Cup, closing the gap at the top of the Premier League. Guardiola acknowledged Arsenal's quality and the challenge that lies ahead, stating, 'Beating Arsenal once is so difficult, imagine beating them twice in a few weeks.' With City out of the Champions League, Guardiola believes his team is growing and will be more fresh for their upcoming matches.
