Prograis Warns Benn's Risky Strategy Will Ultimately Backfire

Regis Prograis has cautioned that Conor Benn's bold move will not pay off when the two face off this weekend. Benn is set to return to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, where he previously secured middleweight victories over Chris Eubank Jr, for his third consecutive bout at the football ground. Prograis, a former super-lightweight world champion, is moving up to 150lbs to fight Benn at a catchweight with no rehydration limit. 'They've certainly set the terms in his favor, but I'm confident I can emerge victorious,' Prograis stated. 'I've spent my entire career fighting at 140lbs, so this is a significant jump.' Prograis expressed his concerns about the lack of a weight stipulation for the day after the fight, but ultimately decided to focus on making the bout happen. 'I know I'm the better fighter, and I'm not worried about the weight,' he said. Prograis remains confident of his victory and has revealed that there is no rematch clause in place for his fight with Benn. 'We don't have a rematch clause, but if the fans want to see it again, I'm open to it,' he said. Prograis believes Benn is taking a gamble by fighting him, given that he has been training in the gym. 'I don't think Benn is in my league,' Prograis said. 'I've been ranked No 1 in the world twice and have been a champion twice, which is more than Benn has achieved.' Prograis is looking to use a win over Benn as a stepping stone to another world title shot. 'A victory will open up many opportunities for me,' he said. 'I'm aiming to become a three-time champion.'
