Howe Reiterates Commitment to Newcastle Amidst Speculation Over His Future

Eddie Howe has reaffirmed his dedication to Newcastle United, following remarks by the club's chief executive, David Hopkinson, that raised questions about the manager's future. Newcastle is set to face Crystal Palace on Sunday, following consecutive losses to Barcelona and Sunderland. Howe stated, 'Nothing has changed for me. I am 100 per cent committed to my job.' He emphasized that his commitment to the team has not wavered and that he has been working during the break to strengthen the team. When asked if he had sought assurances about his future, Howe replied, 'I don't need assurances from anyone. My focus is on doing my job and ensuring the team's success.' Howe also discussed his relationship with Hopkinson and sporting director Ross Wilson, saying, 'We have a good relationship and are working together to move the club forward.' He added that he needs support and good working relationships to feel secure in his role. Regarding the possibility of selling key players in the summer, Howe noted that the club must manage expectations if that happens. He believes the long-term prospects for Newcastle are strong, but the team will need to be 'smart' in the next transfer window to improve.
