Johnston Returns to Training, Araujo's Celtic Career May Be Over
After a lengthy absence due to a hamstring injury, Alistair Johnston has resumed training with Celtic, while Julian Araujo's time at the club may have come to an end. Johnston, Canada's right-back, has been sidelined since October but has rejoined his teammates at Lennoxtown ahead of the upcoming Scottish Premiership match against St Mirren. Meanwhile, Araujo, who is on loan from Bournemouth, has suffered a setback in his recovery from a thigh problem and may not feature for Celtic again this season. 'He trained with the team today, which was very encouraging,' Celtic manager Martin O'Neill said of Johnston. 'I don't think he felt any ill effects.' However, O'Neill expressed concerns about Araujo's situation, stating, 'Julian re-injured himself under supervision at Bournemouth, so that was a real blow. I've only found that out today, so I don't think we will see him for the rest of the season.' Colby Donovan will miss Saturday's game due to a hamstring injury, but O'Neill reported that he is 'recovering well.' The Celtic manager also welcomed the return of the Green Brigade, the team's ultras group, after a five-month ban was lifted. 'The support is very strong, it's great, and I would like if that was the case, just to park things now and let's see what the summer brings,' O'Neill said. With Hearts leading the Scottish Premiership table, O'Neill acknowledged that the title race is still uncertain, saying, 'I would still rather be in Hearts' position just now. They are in the lead with games running out, that is not a bad position to be in.'
