Celtic's Johnston Returns to Training, Araujo's Season May Be Over
After a lengthy absence due to a hamstring injury, Alistair Johnston has resumed training with Celtic. However, Julian Araujo, who is on loan from Bournemouth, may have played his last game for the club due to a thigh problem. Johnston, a right-back for Canada, has been out since October but joined his teammates at the Lennoxtown training complex ahead of the upcoming Scottish Premiership match against St Mirren. Araujo, a Mexico international, had returned to Bournemouth for rehabilitation but suffered a setback. According to Celtic manager Martin O'Neill, "He [Johnston] trained with the team today, which was very encouraging. I don't think he felt any ill effects." O'Neill also expressed concern about Araujo's injury, stating, "Julian re-injured himself under supervision at Bournemouth, so that was a real blow. I've only found that out today, so I don't think we will see him for the rest of the season." Additionally, right-back Colby Donovan will miss the upcoming match due to a hamstring injury. O'Neill welcomed the return of the Green Brigade, a supporters' group that had been banned from Celtic Park for five months. The group's ban was lifted after meeting three key conditions. Celtic is currently third in the Scottish Premiership, three points behind leaders Hearts. O'Neill commented, "The safety regulations have been sorted, and that would give us a boost, absolutely. The support is very strong, it's great, and I would like if that was the case, just to park things now and let's see what the summer brings."
