Garnacho Reflects on Manchester United Exit: 'I Made Some Mistakes'

Alejandro Garnacho has spoken out about his departure from Manchester United, acknowledging that he made some errors during his final six months at the club. Garnacho joined Chelsea in a £40m deal last summer after being left out of Ruben Amorim's first-team squad during pre-season. Prior to his departure, Garnacho sparked controversy by wearing an Aston Villa shirt with Marcus Rashford's name on the back. Following Manchester United's Europa League final loss to Tottenham, Garnacho's brother claimed that he had been 'thrown under the bus' by Amorim. When asked if he regrets his exit from Old Trafford, Garnacho stated, 'Maybe yes, because I loved the club. They gave me confidence from the start, bringing me from Spain to the academy and then to the first team.' He added, 'In the last six months, I wasn't playing like before, and I started to do some bad things. I was only 20 years old, but I felt like I had to play every game.' Garnacho expressed his pride in being at Chelsea and still competing in the Premier League. He also acknowledged that sometimes, decisions must be made, and he has no regrets about his time at Manchester United. Amorim commented, 'You can understand that he's a talented boy, and sometimes things don't work out. I think it's clear that Garnacho wants a different thing with different leadership, and I can understand that.' Meanwhile, Michael Carrick is reportedly on track to become the next Manchester United manager, having led the team to seven wins in 10 games since January and lifted them to third in the Premier League.
