Mullins, who trails Skelton by £2,094,034, graciously conceded defeat, offering his congratulations to Skelton after his Grand National win with I Am Maximus. This leaves Skelton to enjoy a well-deserved victory, having tasted Grade One success with Grey Dawning, Mirabad, and Bossman Jack among six winners at Aintree, before officially receiving the trophy at Sandown Park on April 25.
