Double Injury Setback for England in Women's Six Nations

England's Women's Six Nations campaign has been dealt a significant blow with the loss of Morwenna Talling and Natasha Hunt due to injury. The pair sustained leg injuries during the team's 33-12 victory over Ireland at Allianz Stadium, which was attended by a record-breaking crowd of 77,120. Talling, who started the match, was forced off after 43 minutes, while Hunt, who came on as a substitute, lasted just 13 minutes before being replaced due to injury. This latest setback means that Talling joins a growing list of absent locks, following the withdrawal of Zoe Stratford, Abbie Ward, and Rosie Galligan due to pregnancy. According to England head coach John Mitchell, the team may need to rely on back-rowers for the remainder of the competition, stating, "We've lost four international locks, so we might end up being a team of back-rowers by the end of it. There are different ways to play this game, and if we have to adapt, we will make it work." Talling and Hunt will remain with the England squad to consult with specialists before beginning their rehabilitation at their respective clubs. In response to the injuries, the RFU has confirmed that Sydney Gregson and uncapped player Haidee Head have joined the squad in preparation for the upcoming match against Scotland at Murrayfield on Saturday.
