Celtic's Johnston Returns to Training, Araujo's Season Possibly Over

Alistair Johnston, Celtic's long-term injured player, has resumed training with the team, while Julian Araujo, the club's loan defender, may have played his last game due to a recurring thigh problem. Johnston, who has been out since October with a hamstring injury, joined his teammates at the Lennoxtown training complex ahead of the Scottish Premiership match against St Mirren. Araujo, on the other hand, had returned to his parent club Bournemouth to recover but suffered a setback. Celtic manager Martin O'Neill stated that Johnston's return to training was encouraging and that he may be ready to play soon. However, Araujo's injury has raised concerns about his availability for the rest of the season, and possibly even the World Cup. O'Neill also confirmed that right-back Colby Donovan will miss the upcoming match due to a hamstring injury and may also be out for the Scottish Cup tie. The team is also boosted by the return of the Green Brigade, the Hoops ultras group, after a five-month ban was lifted. The club is currently chasing Hearts and Rangers at the top of the table, with O'Neill acknowledging that being in Hearts' position would be preferable.
