Hull FC Announces Cartwright's Departure at Season's End

With 39 games under his belt, he has secured 19 wins. Initially contracted until the end of the 2027 season, the club has opted to release him a year early. According to Hull's CEO, Richie Myler, Cartwright played a vital role in restoring stability and competitiveness. Cartwright will continue to lead the squad for the remainder of the season, with the club's full support. Following the announcement, the players reportedly skipped a training session, seeking clarity on the decision from club officials. The club is currently in the process of securing a new head coach for the 2027 season and will provide an update soon. It is rumored that former Catalans Dragons head coach Steve McNamara, who played for Hull FC from 1989 to 1996, has been approached for the position.
