Scheffler Pulls Out of Houston Open

World No 1 golfer Scottie Scheffler has pulled out of the Houston Open, citing his wife Meredith's impending childbirth as the reason. This decision comes as the couple prepares to welcome their second child. Scheffler has had a notable history at the Houston Open, finishing as runner-up three times, including the last two years when it served as his final stop before the Masters. He will be replaced by Matt Kuchar at Memorial Park. Scheffler's family is expanding, with his wife having given birth to their first child, Bennett, on May 8, 2024, just before the PGA Championship. After starting 2026 with a win at The American Express, Scheffler saw his streak of 18 consecutive top-10 finishes come to an end with a tie for 12th at the Genesis Invitational. His most recent tournament was a tie for 22nd at The Players Championship. As he gears up for the Masters at Augusta National, where he will compete for his third Green Jacket, Scheffler is looking to regain his momentum.
