Rose's Historic Albatross Propels Los Angeles to Victory Over Tiger's Team in TGL

Justin Rose made history by scoring the first-ever albatross in TGL, leading the Los Angeles Golf Club to an 8-4 win over Tiger Woods' Jupiter Links Golf Club at the SoFi Center. Woods, who is still recovering from an injury, watched as his team suffered their second loss of the season. Rose's incredible shot on the par-five 10th hole brought the crowd to their feet, helping Los Angeles build on their three-point lead established during the triples. Despite a strong comeback by Jupiter Links, featuring Akshay Bhatia, Max Homa, and Kevin Kisner, Los Angeles managed to close out the match and boost their chances of reaching the season-ending SoFi Cup Playoffs. The team strategically used the 'Hammer' option to double the points on offer, first baiting their opponents into accepting it and then declining it when Bhatia landed his tee shot close. Theegala won the next hole, and Los Angeles took the final hole of triples, extending their lead. Rose's albatross, the first of his career, further widened the gap, although Jupiter Links managed to win a hole back. Homa claimed the next under the Hammer, earning two points for Woods' team. Los Angeles used another Hammer at the 14th, resulting in two points when Bhatia missed his 10-foot attempt, and Theegala sealed their victory with a final-hole par. Reflecting on his albatross, Rose said, 'You can hit a great shot, but the outcome is always slightly out of your control. I was confident in my shot, and it felt amazing off the club. It was incredible to celebrate with my teammates, and it was a special moment.' The TGL continues with Rory McIlroy's Boston Common Golf facing The Bay Golf Club, while Jupiter Links will take on reigning champions Atlanta Drive GC on February 3.
