Vincenzo Expected to Claim Ascot Handicap Title on Saturday
The Weekend Winners team is back with their latest episode, available now on the At The Races YouTube channel, as they search for winners at Ascot and Haydock. The panel, consisting of Kate Tracey, Sam Boswell, and Declan Rix, took a closer look at the bet365 Handicap Chase, which will be held at the Berkshire track and broadcast live on Sky Sports Racing. Vincenzo and Bad are currently the favorites, followed by Scarface, Etalon, and Hitman. According to the panel, Vincenzo has a good opportunity to win, given that four of the horses in the race are aged and not particularly progressive. However, concerns were raised about Vincenzo's jumping, as he has been a slow learner and has a tendency to lug and go left, which could be a challenge at Ascot. The team also discussed other contenders, including Bad, who can be inconsistent, and Scarface, who has a good record at Ascot and will be suited by the extra distance. Etalon was also mentioned, having performed well in his last outing at Ascot, but will be stepping up in trip. In terms of betting, the panel suggested that 2/1 is as short as they would want to go for Vincenzo, and they would hope to get 3/1 if they were being greedy. Meanwhile, Hitman was considered as an each-way option, despite his poor win rate, as he always threatens to produce and has a good partnership with jockey Freddie Gingell. Neon Moon was also touched upon, with David Pipe having a profitable record at Ascot, and Harry Cobden teaming up with him. However, the ground conditions were a concern, and a small saver bet was suggested. Ultimately, the panel had different opinions on the outcome, with some backing Vincenzo, while others preferred Scarface or Hitman.
