England have added two fresh faces to their limited‑overs squads for the upcoming T20 and One‑Day International (ODI) series against Sri Lanka. The uncapped Derbyshire batsman Aneurin Donald and Sussex fast‑bowler Henry Crocombe have both earned call‑ups for this month’s fixtures, which will be broadcast live on Sky Sports.
Donald has enjoyed a prolific summer in the domestic T20 competition, the Vitality Blast, where he amassed 489 runs in 12 matches, including four half‑centuries. His power hitting also stood out, as he recorded the highest number of sixes in the tournament with 37. In addition, he performed well for the Trent Rockets in The Hundred, further cementing his reputation as a hard‑hitting top‑order option.
The Wales‑born cricketer made headlines in 2025 when he struck a joint‑fastest fifty in the Blast, reaching 50 runs off just 13 deliveries for Derbyshire against Yorkshire. His inclusion comes as England’s 16‑man T20 squad is missing opening batsman Phil Salt, who is sidelined with a quadriceps injury. Fast‑bowler Henry Crocombe, meanwhile, has been a revelation in the County Championship, claiming hat‑tricks in his two most recent matches. His consistent wicket‑taking ability has earned him a place in the 16‑player ODI group.
Crocombe, who is set to join Surrey from 2027, has taken 49 wickets in 36 domestic 50‑over games and another 34 wickets in 35 T20 matches, bringing his total first‑class haul to well over a hundred scalps. His recent first‑class hat‑tricks came against Somerset and Essex, with one of the dismissals being Craig Overton, the brother of England all‑rounder Jamie Overton. His all‑round domestic record includes 18 half‑centuries and 2,423 runs in 106 T20 innings, with a top score of 91.
