Lando Norris has announced the formation of a new junior single‑seater racing outfit called LN4 Fusion, which is set to compete across several categories beginning in the 2027 season. LN4 Fusion will enter the Formula 3 championship next year after acquiring selected assets from the existing AIX Racing team.

The venture is backed by a high‑profile investment consortium led by Dan Richards, a well‑known figure in the motorsport finance world. The consortium’s backing gives LN4 Fusion the financial stability required to field multiple programmes. In 2027 the team will also launch entries in the Italian Formula 4 series and the Formula Regional European Championship, with a long‑term plan to add a British F4 operation once the initial programmes are firmly established. Speaking to Sky Sports F1 ahead of the Italian Grand Prix, Norris expressed his enthusiasm: "I'm very excited.
This is one of the biggest things I've ever been part of that isn’t just about my own Formula 1 career. It's my very own race team that I co‑founded, so I’ll have my own team competing in all the junior categories. Obviously we want it to be the best, the leading single‑seater outfit.
It’s incredibly cool to be part of something new, to create something from the ground up, and to be involved for the long term." Alongside the team, Norris is also rolling out the LN4 Legacy Programme, an independent, fully funded driver development scheme run by ADD Management and overseen by seasoned programme director Julian Rouse. The Legacy Programme is designed to identify talented young drivers who lack the financial resources to progress through the costly motorsport ladder.
Norris explained the purpose: "The main objective is simply to help younger drivers who have the talent and the ability to reach Formula 1 but don’t have the financial means. We want to support them in all the areas they need to achieve their ultimate goal." He added a personal note, emphasizing his desire to give back: "Basically my little way of trying to give back, using my team, my partners, and giving young drivers a chance. That’s the more personal side of things, which is pretty cool too." A complementary British base will operate out of Cambridgeshire, ensuring the team has a strong presence in both continental Europe and the United Kingdom. Norris reflected on his own upbringing and the role his family played: "I was very lucky growing up that my dad could support me all the way through to Formula 2.
But I know there are many drivers out there who could reach Formula 1 but lack the financial backing or the roadmap to navigate the programme. That’s where the team comes in." He continued, "We’re talking about hundreds of thousands, even millions, of resources that I can bring together – my infrastructure, my knowledge, my network – to give other drivers the same opportunities I had. This is my way of paying it forward." The LN4 Legacy Programme will operate independently of the racing teams, offering fully funded seats, coaching, fitness programmes, media training, and mentorship from experienced professionals. By removing the financial barrier, the programme hopes to widen the talent pool and ensure that merit, rather than money, determines who reaches the top tiers of the sport.
In addition to the competitive calendar, LN4 Fusion has announced a series of media events surrounding the Italian Grand Prix weekend. A drivers' press conference is scheduled for Thursday, September 3 at 1 p.m., followed by a paddock‑uncut segment at 4 p.m. The subsequent days will feature practice sessions for F3 and F2, qualifying rounds, sprint races, and feature races across the various categories, culminating in the Formula 1 Grand Prix at Monza.
These events are intended to showcase the new team’s operations and give fans a behind‑the‑scenes look at the development pathway.
