Lando Norris has announced the formation of a new junior single‑seater racing operation called LN4 Fusion, which is set to compete across several categories beginning in the 2027 season. The venture marks a significant step for the British Formula 1 star, extending his involvement in motorsport beyond his own driver duties and into team ownership and driver development. LN4 Fusion will inherit selected assets from the former Formula 3 outfit AIX Racing, allowing the new team to field a competitive entry in the 2027 F3 championship right away.
In parallel, the organization is already working through the necessary application procedures to secure a licence for a future Formula 2 programme, signalling an ambition to climb the single‑seater ladder as quickly as possible. The enterprise is backed by a high‑profile investment consortium headed by Dan Richards, which also plans to field entries in the Italian Formula 4 and Formula Regional series during the same year. Long‑term plans include expanding into the British F4 championship, giving the team a presence in the key developmental series across Europe.
Speaking to Sky Sports F1 ahead of the Italian Grand Prix, Norris expressed his enthusiasm: "I'm very excited. This is one of the biggest projects I've ever been part of that isn’t just about my own Formula 1 career. It's my own race team that I co‑founded, so I'll have my own outfit in all the junior categories. Obviously we want it to be the best, the leading single‑seater team.
It’s incredibly cool to create something new and be part of it for the long term." In addition to LN4 Fusion, Norris is launching the LN4 Legacy Programme, an independent, fully funded driver development scheme run by ADD Management and overseen by veteran programme director Julian Rouse. The initiative is designed to identify promising young talent that lacks the financial resources to progress through the costly motorsport ladder. Norris explained, "The main objective is simply to help younger drivers who have the talent and ability to reach Formula 1 but don’t have the money, and support them in every other area needed to achieve that goal." He added a personal note, "It’s my way of giving back, using my team, my partners, and the infrastructure I’ve built to give other young drivers a chance.
That’s the more personal side of things, which is pretty cool too." LN4 Fusion’s European headquarters will be situated in the Veneto region of Italy, where a state‑of‑the‑art facility is currently under construction. A complementary British office will operate out of Cambridgeshire, ensuring the team has a strong presence in both continental and UK motorsport environments. Reflecting on his own upbringing, Norris said, "I was very lucky that my dad could support me all the way through to Formula 2.
But I know there are many drivers out there who could reach Formula 1 if they had the financial backing or a clear pathway. That’s where the team comes in. This is my way of pooling hundreds of thousands, even millions, of resources, knowledge, and infrastructure to give other drivers the same opportunities I had." The LN4 Legacy Programme will operate independently of the racing team, offering fully funded seats, mentorship, physical training, and media coaching to selected drivers.
By removing the financial barrier, the programme aims to broaden the talent pool and increase diversity within the sport. The launch event also included a detailed schedule of the upcoming Italian Grand Prix weekend, highlighting practice sessions, qualifying, and support races across F3, F2, and the Porsche Supercup, all broadcast on Sky Sports.
The agenda underscores the close integration between Norris’s F1 commitments and his new junior‑series initiatives. Overall, LN4 Fusion and the LN4 Legacy Programme represent a holistic approach to nurturing the next generation of racing talent. By combining a competitive team structure with a fully funded development pathway, Norris hopes to create a sustainable pipeline that can feed drivers into higher categories, ultimately aiming for the pinnacle of Formula 1. The ambitious project not only broadens Norris’s footprint in motorsport but also sets a precedent for current drivers to invest in the sport’s future beyond their own racing careers.
