Lando Norris has announced the creation of a new junior single‑seater racing outfit called LN4 Fusion, which is set to compete across several formula categories beginning in the 2027 season. The venture marks a significant step for the British Formula 1 star, extending his involvement in motorsport beyond his own Grand Prix commitments and into the development of future talent. LN4 Fusion will inherit key assets from the former Formula 3 team AIX Racing, allowing the new squad to field a competitive entry in the F3 championship next year.
In parallel, the organisation is already working through the necessary application process to secure a licence for Formula 2 competition in the longer term. The plan is to build a clear progression ladder for young drivers, starting in the junior formulas and eventually moving up to the higher echelons of single‑seater racing. The project is backed by a prominent investment consortium headed by Dan Richards, a well‑known figure in the motorsport finance arena.
In addition to the F3 entry, LN4 Fusion will run teams in the Italian Formula 4 series and the Formula Regional European Championship in 2027, with an eye toward expanding into the British F4 championship in subsequent years. Norris emphasised the ambition of the operation during a pre‑race interview with Sky Sports F1 ahead of the Italian Grand Prix: "I'm very excited.
This is one of the biggest things I've ever been part of that isn't just about my own Formula 1 career. It's my very own race team that I co‑founded, so I'll have my own team in all the junior series. Obviously we want it to be the best, we want it to be the leading single‑seater race team.
It's just cool to be part of something new, to create something, and to be involved for a long period of time." Alongside LN4 Fusion, Norris is also launching the LN4 Legacy Programme, an independent, fully funded driver development scheme managed by ADD Management and overseen by veteran programme director Julian Rouse. The Legacy Programme is designed to identify promising young drivers who lack the financial resources to climb the motorsport ladder. "The main objective is simply to help younger drivers who have talent and the ability to reach Formula 1 but probably don't have the money, and to support them in all the other areas they need to reach their ultimate goal," Norris explained.
He added that the initiative reflects a personal desire to give back: "It's my little way of trying to give back, using my team, my partners, and giving young drivers a chance. That's the more personal side of things, which is pretty cool too." LN4 Fusion's European headquarters will be located in the Veneto region of Italy, where a state‑of‑the‑art facility is currently under construction. A complementary British base will operate out of Cambridgeshire, providing logistical support and a training hub for the programme's drivers and engineers. Norris reflected on his own upbringing, noting how fortunate he was to have his father’s financial backing throughout his early career, all the way to Formula 2.
He recognised that many talented drivers lack similar support: "I was very lucky growing up that my dad could support me all the way through to Formula 2. But I know there are a lot of other drivers out there who could get to Formula 1 but don't have the financial backing or the knowledge of how to navigate the whole programme. That's where the team comes in. This is my way of bringing together hundreds of thousands, even millions, of resources – my infrastructure, my support, my knowledge – to give other drivers the opportunity to reach their goals." The launch event also included a detailed schedule of the upcoming Italian Grand Prix weekend, highlighting practice sessions, qualifying rounds, and supporting races across the Formula 3, Formula 2, and Porsche Supercup categories.
