Lando Norris has announced the formation of a new junior single‑seater racing outfit called LN4 Fusion, which is set to compete across several series beginning in the 2027 season. The initiative marks a significant step for the British Formula 1 driver, extending his involvement beyond the premier class and into the developmental ladder that feeds future talent into the sport. LN4 Fusion has already secured key assets from the former Formula 3 outfit AIX Racing, allowing the new team to field entries in the FIA Formula 3 Championship next year.
In parallel, the organization is navigating the necessary application procedures to eventually step up to Formula 2, with the long‑term aim of establishing a full‑scale presence in the top two tiers of junior formula racing. The venture is backed by a prominent investment consortium headed by Dan Richards, whose experience in motorsport finance is expected to provide a solid foundation for the team's growth. In addition to its Formula 3 plans, LN4 Fusion will launch entries in Italian Formula 4 and the Formula Regional European Championship in 2027, with a further intention to expand into the British Formula 4 series in subsequent seasons. This is one of the biggest things I've ever been part of that isn’t just about my own Formula 1 career. It's my very own race team that I co‑founded, so I’ll have my own team competing in all the junior categories. Obviously we want it to be the best, the leading single‑seater outfit.
It’s thrilling to create something new and to be involved for the long term." Alongside LN4 Fusion, Norris is also introducing the LN4 Legacy Programme, an independent, fully funded driver development scheme managed by ADD Management and overseen by veteran programme director Julian Rouse. The Legacy Programme is designed to scout and nurture promising young drivers who lack the financial resources to progress through the costly motorsport ladder.
Norris explained, "The main objective is simply to help younger drivers who have talent and the ability to reach Formula 1 but don’t have the money. We want to support them in all areas needed to achieve their ultimate goal." He added a personal note: "This is my way of giving back, using my team, my partners, and my network to give young drivers a chance. It’s a very personal side of things that I’m proud of." LN4 Fusion will establish its European headquarters in the Veneto region of Italy, where a state‑of‑the‑art facility is currently under construction.
A complementary UK base will operate out of Cambridgeshire, ensuring the team has a strong presence in both continental and British motorsport circles. Norris reflected on his own upbringing, noting, "I was very lucky that my dad could support me all the way through to Formula 2. But I know there are many drivers who could reach Formula 1 if they had the right financial backing and guidance.
That’s where the team and the Legacy Programme come in." He emphasized the scale of the commitment: "We’re talking about hundreds of thousands, even millions, of resources that I can bring together – infrastructure, expertise, and support – to create opportunities for other drivers to achieve their dreams." The launch event also included a detailed schedule of upcoming racing activities surrounding the Italian Grand Prix weekend, highlighting practice sessions, qualifying rounds, and support races across Formula 3, Formula 2, and the Porsche Supercup, as well as press conferences and media briefings.
