Lando Norris has announced the creation of a new junior single‑seater racing operation called LN4 Fusion, which is set to compete across several categories starting in the 2027 season. The venture marks a significant step beyond Norris's own Formula 1 commitments, as he moves into team ownership and driver development. LN4 Fusion will begin its on‑track activities by taking over selected assets from the former Formula 3 outfit AIX Racing, allowing the new team to field entries in the 2027 F3 championship straight away. In parallel, the organisation is already working through the necessary entry procedures to eventually step up to Formula 2, with the long‑term aim of becoming a leading multi‑category racing platform.
The project is backed by a high‑profile investment consortium headed by Dan Richards. In addition to the planned F3 entry, LN4 Fusion intends to run squads in Italian Formula 4 and the Formula Regional European Championship from its inaugural year. The group also has ambitions to add a British Formula 4 team in the future, creating a clear ladder for young drivers to progress from national junior formulas to the global stage. This is one of the biggest things I've ever been part of that goes beyond my own Formula 1 career. It's my very own race team that I co‑founded, so I'll have a presence in all the junior series." He added, "We want to be the best, the leading single‑seater outfit.
It's thrilling to build something new and be involved for the long haul." Alongside the racing team, Norris is launching the LN4 Legacy Programme, an independent, fully funded driver development scheme run by ADD Management under the direction of seasoned programme leader Julian Rouse. The Legacy Programme is designed to discover and nurture talented youngsters who lack the financial resources to climb the motorsport ladder on their own.
"The main objective is simply to help younger drivers who have the talent and ability to reach Formula 1 but don’t have the money," Norris explained. "It’s my way of giving back, using my team, my partners and my network to give young drivers a chance." The LN4 Fusion headquarters will be situated in the Veneto region of Italy, where a new state‑of‑the‑art facility is under construction. A complementary British office will operate out of Cambridgeshire, providing logistical support and a base for UK‑based activities. Norris reflected on his own upbringing, noting that his father was able to support him through the junior ranks up to Formula 2.
"I was very lucky," he said, "but there are many drivers who could reach Formula 1 if they had the right financial backing and guidance. That's where the team and the Legacy Programme come in.
We are talking about hundreds of thousands, even millions, of resources that we can bring together to create opportunities for those drivers." The launch event also included a detailed schedule of the upcoming Italian Grand Prix weekend, highlighting practice sessions, qualifying rounds and related broadcast slots on Sky Sports.
