Luke Littler, Michael van Gerwen and Gerwyn Price are slated to headline a star‑studded roster vying for the £100,000 champion's purse at the 2026 World Series of Darts Finals. The tournament, backed by a total prize fund of £450,000, will make its return to AFAS Live in Amsterdam and is scheduled to run from September 17 through September 20.
Defending champion Michael van Gerwen will be looking to retain his title on home soil after defeating Littler in last year’s final to collect an £80,000 winner’s cheque. Van Gerwen has enjoyed a superb season on the PDC circuit, already adding the Bahrain Darts Masters in January and the Nordic Darts Masters in June to his trophy cabinet.
Earlier this year he also reached the final of the inaugural Saudi Arabia Darts Masters, where he was edged out by the 19‑year‑old Littler, 8‑5. World Matchplay champion Luke Littler enters the competition as the third seed.
The teenage prodigy earned his seeding after a remarkable run that culminated in a victory over Price at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool, a match that saw the 19‑year‑old claim the title. Gerwyn Price, who fell to Littler in that Blackpool showdown, is seeded second and will be eager to reverse the result. Joining the top three seeds are Luke Humphries (fourth seed), who captured the US Darts Masters in June, and the seasoned campaigners Jonny Clayton and James Wade, seeded sixth and seventh respectively after winning the New Zealand and Australian Darts Masters.
Gian van Veen and Stephen Bunting round out the top eight seeds, occupying the fifth and eighth positions. The tournament field is composed of the 24 players who finish inside the top 24 of the final World Series rankings, guaranteeing them a spot in Amsterdam.
In addition, several qualifiers will fill the remaining slots. Australian Brody Klinge, who was runner‑up to Wade at the Australian Darts Masters, will make his debut at the World Series Finals. Nathan Aspinall, Josh Rock and Danny Noppert have also secured places, as has Ross Smith, fresh from a Players Championship 20 victory in June and his first European Tour title earlier in the year.
Four non‑qualified players from the PDC World Rankings as of August 23 – Ryan Searle, Wessel Nijman, Chris Dobey and Jermaine Wattimena – have earned tickets to Amsterdam. The final list of participants was confirmed after the Monday night Tour Card Holder Qualifier, where Rob Cross emerged victorious over Dirk van Duijvenbode in Leicester to clinch his spot. Cross will be joined by Kevin Doets, Karel Sedlacek and Callan Rydz, both of whom will be making their debut at the September event. The opening round will be split across two sessions on Thursday, September 17, and Friday, September 18.
The second round is slated for Saturday, September 19, leading into the quarter‑finals on Sunday afternoon, September 20. The semi‑finals and the championship match will follow later that evening, concluding the tournament.
